a review of the syck trix board

There are many great skate trainers and balance board you can choose from for improving your performance in skateboarding and longboarding.

I would recommend you check out these articles I wrote so you can find out what other balance boards/trainers would be best for your style and the type of skills you want to develop.

The Street Skateboarders Guide to Balance Training

The Longboarders Guide to Balance Training

The sick trix trainer would be best for someone who is strictly looking to get better at flipping tricks, ollies, and shuvits. With this board, you can practice tricks indoors or outdoors, and it will help you develop the movement patterns, coordination, timing and balance needed to perform skateboard tricks.

This board can help speed up the learning curve for learning new skateboard tricks because you can do lots of repetitions of the skill you are trying to learn without having to worry about taking a hard fall like you would practicing a new trick on a skateboard or longboard.

This board would also be good for skateboarders or long boarders looking for a safer version of a balance board than one that rides on top of a roller because you do now have worried about the board shooting out from under you or taking a hard fall while trying to land a balance board on a roller.

The sick trix board would also be perfect for kids because it can help develop their balance and coordination and due to this board being safer to use than traditional balance boards their is less risk of injury.

Some other benefits this board has over traditional roller balance boards that parents might like is they do now have to worried about a board shooting out and damaging a window, tv or wall, the inflatable disk on the bottom of the syck tricks board will not scratch or scuff up your flooring and the syck trix board will not make as much noise when being used.

Additionally, this board is limited in the types of skills that you can develop for skateboarding and long boarding.

If you are trying to develop skills in carving, manuals, slides, heel to toe balance, balance recovery, rotations or overall balance or there are better boards out there for you.

To find out what boards are the best for developing those other types of skills check out my balance training guide to skateboarding or long boarding.

The Syck Trix board compared to other skateboarding and longboarding balance trainers.

Skate trainers vs Syck Trix

Skate trainers are a similar product to the syck trix board in that their primary purpose is for learning how to do flipping tricks, ollies and shuvits.

One downside to skate trainers is that they can be time-consuming and a pain in to put on and take off so if you only have one skateboard you might not use them as often as you think.

The syck trix board is much more convenient to use because you do not have to set anything up, so you will likely end up using it more often.

The air cushions on the bottom of the sick trix board are going add some instability to the board with will improve your overall balance better than skate trainers.

Also, the air cushions on the bottom of the sick trix board are less likely damage to floors or carpets then skate trainers, additionally using a syck trix board would be less noisy than using skate trainers due to the cushions.

Vew-Do Boards Vs Syck Trix

Take note on how vew-do boards allow you to work on heel to toe balance by letting you ride the board at an angle.

The Vew-do el Dorado or Flow are Vew-do boardsbest boards for skaters because they can be used to train so many different types of skills such as flipping tricks, ollies, shuvits, slides, heel to toe balance, rotations, spins and manuals and general balance.

With that being said they are also the most one of the most dangerous and challenging boards to use, so you have to weigh the risks vs. rewards for yourself.

Why practicing ollies and flipping tricks on a vew-do board is much harder.

When doing a flipping trick or ollie you have to get the metal track on the bottom of the deck to land perfectly into the groove of the roller to stick a landing.

Due to the added challenge of this, it is more likely you will end up taking more falls then you would practicing with a syck trixs board.

Also, the wooden rollers of a vew-do board will eventually get damaged from the deck slamming down on them, and you will have to replace it.

Revolution Core 32 Balance board vs Syck Trix

The revolution balance board is a little more versatile as a skateboad balancer trainer than a syck trix board but not as versatile as a Vew-do board because it does not let you work on heel to toe balance, or ride the board at an angle, or do spins and rotations as well as Vew-do board.

But if you are looking for a board just to work on flipping tricks, ollies and general balance the revolution core would be a better choice than a Vew-do board because it is much easier to land on top of the roller.

The roller of the core board is weighted so that it stays in place when popping the deck off of it, and this allows the roller to remain directly under you making it easier to land tricks.

The syck trix board is going to be much safer to use than the core balance board and will allow you learn the mechanics a trick without the fear of taking a hard fall.

Still confused about what board would be best for you?

Skate trainers- are the cheapest option for learning the muscle memory, coordination and timing for needed to perform tricks.

But can be time-consuming to put on and take off and they are not recommended to be used indoors because they can damage flooring and be loud when using them.

Vew-do balance boards - will allow you to work on the greatest range of skateboarding skills but also have the steepest learning curb.

If you plan on practicing a lot of popping ticks with vew-do boards, anticipate taking a lot of falls and having to replace the roller often.

Revoution core 32 board is a good board for learning flipping tricks and ollies because it will be easier to land them compared to a vew-do board but it lacks a lot of the other type of skills you can work on with a vew-do board.

Even though landing ollies and flipping tricks will be a little easier than on a vew-do board it is still going to be challenging so you have to be ok with knowing you are going to be taking some falls.

The syck trix board - This board is perfect if you are looking for a balance trainer that can be used indoors to learn and master the mechanics of different skateboarding tricks.

This board would also be great introducing children into board sports because it is much safer to use than a balance board with a roller and will allow them to work on their heel to toe balance skills.

If you are serious about improving your skateboarding, I recommend you start out with stake trainers or the syck tricks board and master the mechanics of a trick. Then once you have the mechanics of the tricks move on to a balance board like the vew-do board or core 32 to learn how to stick the landings.
